How we source, write, date and correct every page.

This page explains how we research, write, date and correct every menu guide and article on MenuHeat.

Our sources, in order of preference

  1. Official nutrition and allergen guides first. Calories, protein and allergen information come from each chain's own nutrition pages or PDFs whenever we can open them. If we can only find a value from a third party, we say so and list that source.
  2. Prices from official and reputable sources. Chains let franchisees set their own prices, so there is no single official price. We use official online ordering menus, company press releases, news reports from the current or previous year and reputable price trackers, and we cross-check with a second source when we can. On menu pages built from our wider price table, prices are estimated typical U.S. prices for the month shown, labeled "Est. price"; when we confirmed an official price at a sample store or on an official menu, we show it next to the estimate and say where it came from.
  3. Official nutrition only in menu tables. In the item tables, calories and protein appear only when they come from the chain's own nutrition information. Third-party estimates are not shown, and when the official guide uses a slightly different item name we note which item the figures are for.
  4. Everything else from primary sources. Founding dates, location counts, hours and rewards programs come from company sites, investor filings and established reference works.

If we cannot verify a number, we leave it out and mark it as not published rather than guess. Every menu page ends with a list of the sources we opened and a short note explaining how its prices were gathered.

Dates on every page

Each menu guide shows the month we last checked it, and each article shows when it was published and last updated. We review menu pages regularly and whenever a chain announces a menu or price change.

How we write

Every sentence on MenuHeat is written in our own words. We do not copy menu descriptions, taglines or articles from other sites. We put the direct answer first, explain the details second and avoid hype.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to help research and draft; every page is reviewed and fact-checked by a person before publishing.

Independence and advertising

No restaurant pays for coverage, placement or rankings. MenuHeat may show advertising, which is clearly separated from our content. Advertisers do not see or approve our pages before they go live.

Images

We never use restaurant logos, brand colors or official food photography. Food images on the site are stock photos used as serving suggestions; see photo credits.

If you spot a wrong price, a discontinued item or any other error, please tell us through the contact page or at contact@menuheat.com. Include the page address and, if you can, the store location and date you saw the different price. We review every report, fix confirmed errors promptly and update the page's last-checked date.
