Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Effective date: November 3, 2026

This policy explains what information MenuHeat ("we", "us") collects when you visit menuheat.com, how it is used, and the choices and rights you have. MenuHeat is an independent website. Contact: contact@menuheat.com.

Information we collect

  • Information you send us. If you email us or use the contact form (which opens your own email app), we receive your email address, name if you give it, and your message.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request, for security and to keep the site running.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We and our partners, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies for analytics and advertising, as described below and in our cookie policy.

We do not ask for or knowingly collect sensitive information, and you do not need an account to use MenuHeat.

Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent through a consent banner before personalized ads or non-essential cookies are used, and you can change your choice at any time from the banner's settings link.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are popular and how people arrive. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. You can block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or through our consent banner where it is shown.

How we use information

  • to run, secure and improve the website;
  • to answer your messages and process corrections;
  • to measure traffic and understand which content is useful;
  • to show advertising that funds the site, subject to your choices.

We do not sell your personal information for money.

Legal bases (EEA and UK visitors)

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR we rely on: your consent for analytics and advertising cookies; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the site and replying to messages; and legal obligations where they apply.

Your rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise these rights, email contact@menuheat.com.

Your rights under U.S. state privacy laws (including the CCPA/CPRA)

If you live in California or another U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, which can include advertising cookies used for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out by adjusting your choices in our consent settings where shown, by turning off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, or by using a browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor where required. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email contact@menuheat.com; we may need to verify your request.

Children

MenuHeat is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Retention and security

We keep emails only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of corrections. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account. We use HTTPS across the site and limit access to the data we hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

International transfers

Our service providers, including Google, may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, these transfers rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions.

Links to other sites

We link to restaurant websites and other sources. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the law changes. We will post the new version here and update the effective date.
