What are Panera Bread hours?

Panera Bread hours are not the same everywhere. Panera runs about 2,254 bakery-cafes, some company-owned and some franchised, and each one sets its own schedule based on its location and traffic. A cafe next to an office park and one in a shopping center can keep very different hours.

The pattern most people can count on is the shape of the day. Cafes open early for coffee and breakfast, switch to the lunch menu in late morning, and serve lunch and dinner from the same menu until closing. Closing times vary more than opening times, and we could not find a current, reliable figure for a typical closing hour, so check your cafe before an evening visit.

You will sometimes see listings for Panera Bread Co. or a Panera bakery. They are the same chain, and the hours advice here applies to all of them.

What time does Panera Bread open?

Most Panera cafes open between 6 and 7 a.m., according to The Daily Meal, which checked hours in Panera's cafe locator. That report dates from 2022, so treat it as a rough guide rather than a rule for your cafe.

Early opening serves the breakfast and coffee crowd. Cafes in malls, airports, hospitals or college campuses often follow the hours of the building they are in, which can mean a later start or an earlier close, plus changes during school breaks. If you are planning around a campus cafe, check its own page rather than a nearby street location.

Weekend hours can differ from weekdays. Breakfast runs about 30 minutes later on Saturday and Sunday, which hints that many cafes keep a different weekend schedule. Look at the specific day on your cafe's page before a Sunday visit.

What are lunch hours at Panera?

Lunch at Panera usually starts when breakfast ends, at about 10:30 a.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends, and the lunch menu then generally runs until the cafe closes. Soups, salads, sandwiches, Market Bowls and mac and cheese stay on offer through the afternoon and evening, and Panera itself describes its Chicken Roma and Spicy Steak Bagel Stacks as lunch and dinner items.

Is Panera open on Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and New Year's?

Some Panera cafes open on major holidays and some close, and Panera does not publish one national holiday schedule. Here is what we could confirm.

Thanksgiving: Reports for 2025 conflicted. Nexstar's SavorNation listed Panera among chains with most, if not all, locations open on Thanksgiving, possibly with shorter hours, while FOX stations' national roundup put Panera in the closed column. Treat Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26, 2026, as a day your cafe may be closed, and confirm in the Panera app before you go.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day: For Christmas 2025, Panera told Nexstar that customers should confirm holiday hours with their local cafe, and it did not say how many would open. Christmas Eve is Thursday, December 24, 2026, and Christmas Day is Friday, December 25. Plan for the chance that your cafe is closed on the 25th or closes early on the 24th.

New Year's Eve and Day, Easter: We found no recent statement from Panera for these days. New Year's Day 2027 is a Friday, and Easter 2027 is Sunday, March 28.

On any holiday, the cafe page in the Panera app is the best place to check, since cafes can post special hours there. A phone call is the only way to be sure.

If you want Panera food on the holiday itself, order ahead rather than counting on a walk-in. Panera's catering rules ask for at least four hours' notice on same-day orders and warn that anything inside 24 hours depends on availability, so place a holiday order a day or more early. A baker's dozen of bagels, about $18.99, is an easy order to pick up the day before for a holiday breakfast.

How do you find the hours of the Panera near you?

Use the cafe locator in the Panera app or on panerabread.com. Search by city or ZIP code, pick a cafe and its page shows that location's hours, address and phone number.

A few tips save wasted trips:

• Check the exact day. Weekend and holiday hours can differ from the weekday hours shown first.
• Start an order. If the app lets you schedule a pickup for your time, the cafe expects to be open and serving then.
• Call for odd hours. Very early, late or holiday visits are worth a phone call, because posted hours are not always updated.
• Know your cafe type. Some cafes have a drive-thru. Panera's nutrition guide lists separate drive-thru sizes for lemonade and iced tea, so the same drink can come in a different size at the window. A regular Agave Lemonade is listed at 210 calories in the cafe and 130 calories at the drive-thru.

Do Panera catering and delivery follow the same hours?

Catering and delivery run on the cafe's schedule, with extra rules. Panera's summer 2026 catering menu asks for at least four hours' notice on same-day catering orders, says orders within 24 hours depend on product and delivery availability, and asks that you cancel at least four hours before pickup or delivery.
