What sizes does Domino's pizza come in?

Domino's sells four round sizes in the U.S.: small (10 inches), medium (12 inches), large (14 inches) and extra large (16 inches). Not every crust comes in every size, so the size you pick limits your crust choices.

Hand Tossed is the only crust offered in small, medium and large. Medium is the most flexible size, since it is the only one where you can get Handmade Pan and Parmesan Stuffed Crust. The extra large now comes only as New York Style, and one of the 11 stores we checked, in Boise, did not offer an extra large at all. There is also the Domino, a personal Detroit-style pizza that Domino's lists at 10 by 4 inches. See the crusts guide for how each one differs.

What are Domino's pizza sizes and prices?

A plain cheese pizza at menu price was most often $9.99 for a small, $12.99 for a medium, $14.99 for a large and $17.49 for an extra large at the 11 stores we checked. Store prices vary a lot: a large cheese ran from $12.85 in Boise to $16.99 in Brooklyn and Denver.

Each topping adds $1.50 to $3 on a medium and $1.75 to $3 on a large, depending on the store; $2 was the most common charge on a large. Crust also changes the price. Handmade Pan cost $1.50 to $2 more than a medium Hand Tossed, Parmesan Stuffed Crust cost $4 more, and the small Gluten Free Crust cost $3 more than a small Hand Tossed at every store. Specialty pizzas cost more again, mostly $19.99 for a large.

Few people pay these prices. Domino's runs standing offers such as $6.99 Mix & Match and a $7.99 carryout pizza deal, so check our Domino's deals page before you order.

How many slices are in a medium Domino's pizza?

A medium Hand Tossed pizza from Domino's has 8 slices, the same count as a large. Domino's nutrition guide also divides the medium Handmade Pan and medium Parmesan Stuffed Crust pizzas into eighths.

A medium New York Style pizza is different: Domino's says it is cut into six big, foldable slices. The medium Crunchy Thin is square cut, so you get more, smaller pieces rather than wedges. Because a medium has the same slice count as a large but less pizza, each medium slice is noticeably smaller.

How many slices are in a large Domino's pizza?

A large Hand Tossed Domino's pizza has 8 slices. A large New York Style has 6 bigger slices, and the large Crunchy Thin is square cut into small pieces, which suits a party. An extra large, which is New York Style only, also comes in 6 slices.

Domino's does not publish a slice count for the small. Its nutrition guide treats one-third of a small Hand Tossed or Gluten Free pizza as a serving, and one-quarter of a small Thin. If a cut matters to you, the online order form lets you choose pie cut, square cut or uncut.

Which Domino's size is the best value?

Bigger is cheaper per bite. Using the typical cheese prices above, a small costs about 12.7 cents per square inch, a medium 11.5 cents, a large 9.7 cents and an extra large 8.7 cents.

The jump from medium to large is the easiest win. A 14-inch pie has about 36 percent more pizza than a 12-inch, and at typical prices it costs about $2 more. Two mediums give you more total pizza than one extra large, but at menu price they cost about $8 more, so the extra large is the better buy for one shared order. The math changes with deals: Mix & Match prices a medium 2-topping pizza at $6.99, which can beat a large at full price. Frequently asked questions

How big is a medium Domino's pizza?

A medium Domino's pizza is 12 inches across, about 113 square inches of pizza, and a Hand Tossed medium is cut into 8 slices. It is the only size you can order as Handmade Pan or Parmesan Stuffed Crust, and it also comes in Hand Tossed, Thin and New York Style. A 14-inch large has about 36 percent more.

Is a large or two mediums better at Domino's?

Two medium Domino's pizzas give you about 226 square inches of pizza against 154 for one large, so two mediums are more food. At typical menu prices two medium cheese pizzas cost about $26 and a large about $15. With Mix & Match, two medium 2-topping pizzas cost $6.99 each, which usually makes two mediums the better deal.
