Burger King Hours (2026): Opening, Closing, Lunch & Holidays

What are normal Burger King hours?

Most Burger King restaurants open between 6 and 7 a.m. and serve until at least 10 p.m., but every owner sets their own schedule. To get past the guesswork, we pulled the hours Burger King lists for all 6,523 of its open U.S. restaurants on Oct. 31, 2026. A clear pattern shows up:

• On weekdays, about 3 in 4 dining rooms open by 6 a.m., and more than 9 in 10 are open by 7 a.m.
• Sunday mornings start later. Only about 4 in 10 lobbies open by 6 a.m., and 7 a.m. is the most common Sunday opening time.
• The drive-thru usually keeps longer hours than the lobby at the same store.
• About 4% of restaurants (268 of them) have no drive-thru at all.

Use the table as a guide to what is normal, then confirm your own store. Burger King's data also lists delivery hours separately, and they can be shorter than the drive-thru.

When does Burger King close?

Most Burger King dining rooms close at 10 p.m., while the drive-thru usually runs later. On a typical weeknight, 59% of lobbies in Burger King's data close at exactly 10 p.m., about 13% at 9 p.m. and about 12% at 11 p.m. Only about 8% keep the dining room open until midnight or later.

The drive-thru is the late-night option. Midnight is the single most common drive-thru closing time, and on weeknights about 3 in 4 drive-thrus stay open until midnight or later, counting the roughly 14% that never close. On Fridays and Saturdays that share climbs to about 81%: around 16% to 17% of drive-thrus run all night, and another 27% close at 1 a.m. or later.

So if you are heading out after 10 p.m., plan on the drive-thru rather than the lobby, and check your store first if it is past midnight.

What time does Burger King serve lunch?

Burger King starts serving lunch at 10:30 a.m., the moment breakfast ends. In Burger King's menu system, the main menu runs from 10:30 a.m. until the store closes, so lunch, dinner and late night all use the same menu.

That also answers whether Burger King serves lunch all day: once 10:30 hits, the Whopper, Chicken Fries, chicken sandwiches and the rest of the main menu stay available until closing. There is no separate dinner menu. At a 24-hour drive-thru, the main menu runs overnight and breakfast takes over again at 6 a.m.

Before 10:30 a.m., it depends on the store. About two-thirds of U.S. restaurants are set up for Burgers for Breakfast, which adds Whoppers, cheeseburgers and the Original Chicken Sandwich to the morning menu. Is Burger King open 24 hours?

Some Burger King locations are open 24 hours, but only at the drive-thru, and only a minority. In Burger King's store data, about 14% of U.S. drive-thrus run around the clock on weekdays, rising to about 16% on Fridays and 17% on Saturdays. Dining rooms are a different story: only about 4% stay open 24 hours.

At a 24-hour store, the main menu with Whoppers and Chicken Fries runs all night, and breakfast takes over at 6 a.m. Late at night you will usually order at the window, since the lobby at most of these stores closes in the evening. Delivery hours are listed separately and are often shorter, so a store that is open all night may not deliver all night.

Is Burger King open on Thanksgiving and Christmas?

Many Burger King restaurants open on Thanksgiving, and some open on Christmas Day with shorter hours, but each owner decides. Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026, and Christmas on Friday, Dec. 25. We had not found 2026 holiday announcements from Burger King as of Oct. 31, so here is what happened last year:

• Thanksgiving 2025: Newsweek and FOX 2 Detroit listed Burger King as open, and People noted that hours varied by location. Expect many stores to open, often on a shorter schedule.
• Christmas Day 2025: Hip2Save reported that some Burger King locations in high-traffic areas opened with reduced hours. Many others closed.
• Other holidays: We found no national schedule for Christmas Eve or New Year's Day, so treat them as store-by-store.

Is Burger King open today? How to check your store

The fastest way to know whether a Burger King is open right now is the store locator in the BK app or on bk.com. It shows the hours for that specific restaurant, which matters because two stores a mile apart can keep very different schedules.

A few habits save wasted trips:

• Check the right hours. Dining room, drive-thru and delivery hours are listed separately in Burger King's data, and the lobby usually closes first.
• Order ahead near cutoffs. If you want breakfast close to 10:30 a.m., place a mobile order a few minutes early.
• Call on holidays. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's hours are set by the owner and may not appear online.
• Expect later Sunday openings. Many stores start an hour later on Sunday mornings.
