What time does fast food breakfast end?

At most big chains, breakfast ends at 10:30 a.m. Taco Bell and Whataburger run until 11 a.m., while Sonic and Dunkin' do not stop at all.

The 10:30 cutoff is the industry habit because kitchens need time to switch grills, fryers and holding bins over to lunch. Registers at many stores flip menus right at the cutoff minute, so arriving at 10:29 is cutting it close.

Keep in mind that nearly every chain on this list is mostly franchised. Owners can open later, stop earlier or extend breakfast on weekends, and stores inside malls, airports and campuses often follow their host's schedule. The times below come from each chain's own menu settings, store pages or company statements we checked in October 2026, and each chain's hours are summarized on its menu page, such as the McDonald's menu and the Wendy's menu.

Which fast food chains serve breakfast all day?

Sonic and Dunkin' are the two national chains that sell breakfast all day at most stores. Whataburger comes close by serving breakfast for 12 hours, overnight through late morning.

Sonic lists its breakfast burritos, TOASTERs and French Toast Sticks on the regular menu with no cutoff. Most drive-ins open between 6 and 8 a.m., and a Bacon or Sausage Breakfast Burrito ran $3.69 to $3.99 at the six stores we checked. Details are on the Sonic menu.

Dunkin' builds its whole menu around breakfast, so sandwiches, Wake-Up Wraps, bagels and donuts are sold through regular store hours. The catch is supply: popular items can sell out late in the day. Whataburger serves breakfast from 11 p.m. to 11 a.m. daily, and most of its restaurants are open 24 hours. McDonald's sold breakfast all day from 2015 until 2020, then dropped it to simplify kitchens. A few stores still serve McMuffins later, but you have to ask.

When does McDonald's stop serving breakfast?

Most McDonald's restaurants stop serving breakfast at 10:30 a.m., and some continue until 11 a.m., often on weekends. Breakfast starts when the store opens, and many locations open early or run overnight.

Because franchisees choose the window, the McDonald's app is the quickest way to check. It shows the current menu for the store you select, so if breakfast items disappear from the screen, the kitchen has switched over.

If you make it in time, the value is strong. The $4 Breakfast Meal Deal bundles a Sausage McMuffin or Sausage Biscuit with hash browns and a small coffee. The Under $3 Menu adds a Sausage Burrito (310 calories, $2.49), a Sausage McMuffin and a medium Premium Roast Coffee at about $1.99. What are Burger King and Wendy's breakfast hours?

Burger King typically serves breakfast from 6 to 10:30 a.m., and Wendy's from about 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Both chains let owners shift those times slightly.

Burger King

The 6 to 10:30 a.m. window comes from Burger King's own menu settings. The 2 for $3 Mix & Match deal lets you pick two from a Sausage Biscuit, 3-piece French Toast Sticks, small hash browns or a Breakfast Burrito Jr. The Fully Loaded Croissan'wich, with sausage, bacon and ham, is the heavy option at 620 calories. Wendy's

Wendy's breakfast usually runs from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m., with later starts at some mall and airport stores and on Sundays. The Breakfast Baconator ($4.59 to $5.30) brings 30 grams of protein at 630 calories, and the $3 Breakfast Biggie Bundle lets you pick two items, such as a Sausage Biscuit, at participating restaurants. How late does Chick-fil-A serve breakfast?

Chick-fil-A serves breakfast until 10:30 a.m., Monday through Saturday, at most restaurants. Stores usually open at 6 or 6:30 a.m., so the window is about four hours, and there is no breakfast at all on Sunday because every location is closed.

The Chick-fil-A Chicken Biscuit ($3.69 to $4.19, 460 calories) is the classic order, and the 4-count Chick-n-Minis ($4.69 to $5.35) give you 20 grams of protein. The Egg White Grill is the lightest sandwich at 300 calories. This fall, a smaller Chicken & Waffles Breakfast Sandwich sells for $5.19 to $5.95 until 10:30 a.m., then the full-size version takes over for the rest of the day.

Chick-fil-A also closes on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and hours can be shorter around other holidays. When does Taco Bell stop serving breakfast?

Taco Bell serves breakfast from opening until 11 a.m. at participating restaurants. The stores we checked in Georgia, Texas and Ohio opened at 7 a.m., which gives you a four-hour window.

Not every Taco Bell serves breakfast, and the app sometimes marks breakfast as unavailable for online orders even when the kitchen is making it. If you want a breakfast Crunchwrap or quesadilla, the drive-thru is the safer route. Calories for the breakfast items are on Taco Bell's nutrition pages; a Breakfast Quesadilla with bacon, for example, is listed at 500 calories by Nutritionix.

Which fast food chains do not serve breakfast?

KFC, Chipotle, Zaxbys, Cook Out and most Panda Express locations do not serve breakfast. Popeyes and Arby's offer it only at some restaurants.

How can you avoid missing the breakfast cutoff?

Check your store's menu in the chain's app before you leave, and aim to order at least 10 minutes before the cutoff. Those two habits solve most missed-breakfast trips.

• Use the app as a clock. McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King and Chick-fil-A apps show the menu your selected store is serving right now.
• Watch Sundays and holidays. Wendy's can start later on Sundays, Chick-fil-A is closed, and holiday hours are set store by store.
• Order ahead in the app. If the app still lets you add breakfast items to a pickup order, the store is still serving them; once they vanish, the kitchen has switched.
• Know your backups. If you miss 10:30, Taco Bell and Whataburger run until 11, and Sonic and Dunkin' keep serving breakfast items all day.
