What is on the Chipotle High Protein Menu?

The Chipotle High Protein Menu is a short list of ready-made orders built from regular ingredients, launched on December 23, 2025. Protein ranges from 15 grams in a single taco to 81 grams in a double-chicken bowl, and every item except the steak cup is built on adobo chicken.

You can still change any item, but ordering it by name saves you from working out portions yourself. The two smaller bowls are the ones to look at if you want protein without a big calorie count: the High Protein-High Fiber Bowl has 46 grams of protein and 14 grams of fiber for 540 calories, and the High Protein-Low Calorie option, served on a supergreens lettuce mix with guacamole, has 36 grams for 470 calories. Chipotle tags both as GLP-1 friendly on its menu.

The High Protein Cup is the odd one out. It is a 4-ounce cup of chicken sold on its own as a snack, and it is the cheapest way to buy protein at Chipotle. A steak version has 21 grams. For how these stack up against other chains, see our guide to high-protein fast food.

How much is a protein bowl at Chipotle?

A High Protein Cup of chicken costs about $3.80 to $4.15, and Chipotle cites a $3.82 national average. The steak cup runs about $5.80 to $6.30 at the stores we checked in October 2026.

The High Protein bowls and burrito are priced like any other entree: the base price for the protein, plus a charge for double protein where the build calls for it. A chicken bowl starts at about $9.20 to $9.50. Chipotle does not publish one national price for double protein, and it varies by store and protein; our price sheet estimates the charge at about $4.50 for chicken, so a Double High Protein Bowl will usually land in the low-to-mid teens before tax. Your app shows the exact figure before you pay.

If you use Chipotle Rewards, double protein costs 700 points in the Rewards Exchange, which is $70 of spending at 10 points per dollar. Prices for regular bowls and burritos by protein are on the Chipotle bowl and Chipotle burrito pages.

How many calories are in a Chipotle burrito?

A Chipotle burrito with chicken, white rice, black beans, fresh tomato salsa, cheese and romaine has about 980 calories. The same fillings in a bowl have about 660, because the flour tortilla alone is 320 calories.

The protein changes the total less than you might expect. Steak and sofritas are the lightest at 150 calories per 4-ounce portion, and carnitas is the heaviest at 210. The bigger swings come from what you add on top:

  • Sour cream adds 110 calories.
  • Guacamole adds 230.
  • Queso blanco adds 120 for the 2-ounce entree portion.
  • Roasted chili-corn salsa adds 80, against 15 for tomatillo-green salsa.

Put it all together and a chicken burrito with sour cream and guacamole reaches about 1,320 calories, and a bag of chips on the side pushes the meal past 1,850. Go the other way and the numbers fall fast: the same chicken order as a bowl without cheese is about 550 calories, and leaving out the rice too brings it to about 340.

How many calories are in each Chipotle ingredient?

Chipotle publishes calories for every ingredient at its standard portion, which is why its online nutrition calculator can total any order. The table below lists those per-portion figures for the core ingredients.

Two things are worth knowing. First, the portions are standard scoops, and the person on the line may give you more or less. Second, asking for extra of anything roughly doubles that ingredient's calories, and asking for light cuts them. Brown and white rice are the same 210 calories per 4 ounces, so pick the one you like.

The chips deserve their own warning. A regular bag is 540 calories and Chipotle labels it as serving two, so sharing one halves the hit. A regular chips and guacamole is 770 calories, and chips and queso blanco is 780.

How do you build a lower-calorie or keto-style Chipotle order?

Start with a bowl or salad, pick one protein, load up on fajita veggies and salsa, choose rice or beans rather than both, and add only one of cheese, sour cream or guacamole. That approach keeps most orders between about 450 and 700 calories.

Chipotle does not label any current item as keto. If you are cutting carbs, the starchy parts of the order are the tortilla, rice, beans, chips and corn salsa, so leave those out and build on romaine or the supergreens mix. A bowl of greens, chicken, fajita veggies, tomatillo salsa and guacamole stays light while keeping the fat that low-carb eaters usually want.

The two lightest ingredients are romaine at 5 calories and fajita veggies at 20. Tomatillo-green salsa at 15 and fresh tomato salsa at 25 add flavor for almost nothing. Watch the salad dressing: the chipotle-honey vinaigrette is 220 calories, so use part of it or skip it. Our healthiest fast food orders guide has more lighter picks.

Is Chipotle good for gluten-free, vegetarian and allergy diets?

Chipotle works well for vegetarians and can work for gluten-free eaters, as long as you skip the flour tortillas. Chipotle states that its flour tortillas are made with wheat flour and are not gluten-free.

For gluten-free diners, order a bowl or salad, or Chipotle tacos on crispy corn tortillas, and check Chipotle's Allergens & Special Diet page at chipotle.com/allergens for each ingredient, including the shells. Chipotle says its Family Meal ingredients can be combined into gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan meals.

For vegetarians, sofritas is a plant-based protein that costs the same as chicken, and a veggie order includes guacamole at no extra charge. Sofritas contains soy. Cheese, queso and sour cream contain milk, and Chipotle notes the barbacoa may contain sulfites.

All ingredients share one serving line, so cross-contact can happen. If you have a serious allergy, ask the crew to change gloves at the start of your order, or order online and add a note.

How do you use the Chipotle nutrition calculator?

Open the nutrition calculator on chipotle.com, choose your entree type, then tap each ingredient you plan to order. It adds up the nutrition for your build as you go, so you can see what a swap does before you reach the counter.

The calculator uses standard portions. If you plan to ask for extra rice or double protein, add that ingredient twice. The full price and item list are on the main Chipotle menu.
