How to order smarter at Olive Garden

  1. Go Monday to Friday before 3 p.m.: lunch-size plates cost about $5 to $10 less than dinner, and the same dishes as Lighter Portions after 3 p.m. cost exactly $2 more than at lunch.
  2. Olive Garden doesn't take reservations, so join the waitlist in the app or online before you leave home.
  3. If you want leftovers on purpose, add a $6 Take Home entrée (Fettuccine Alfredo, Five Cheese Ziti or Spaghetti with Meat Sauce) to any entrée; the offer excludes Times Square.
  4. A dinner entrée already includes soup or salad and breadsticks when you dine in, so skip the appetizer unless the table is sharing.
  5. Ask for the gluten-free rotini or the Gluten Sensitive menu if you avoid gluten; the rotini meets the FDA gluten-free definition, though the kitchen itself isn't gluten-free.
