Does Popeyes serve breakfast?

Most Popeyes restaurants do not serve breakfast. In Popeyes' store directory on Nov. 1, 2026, 220 of 3,124 open U.S. locations carried a breakfast flag, about 7%. The other 93% open with the regular chicken menu, usually at 10 a.m.

Even the flag is not a sure sign. Of those 220 flagged stores, 196 list a 10 a.m. or later opening time on weekdays, which leaves little room for a morning menu. Only nine flagged stores open before 9 a.m., and two list round-the-clock hours. Across all open stores, only about 50 open before 9 a.m.

Travel locations are one place where early service shows up. A 2025 Tasting Table report described breakfast at Popeyes airport locations in Atlanta and Raleigh-Durham, starting as early as 6 a.m. and 4 a.m.

The flagged stores are spread out rather than clustered in Louisiana. Florida had the most (41), followed by Maryland (19), Virginia (18), Texas (17) and California (16). For opening times across the chain, see our Popeyes hours guide.

What is on the Popeyes breakfast menu?

The Popeyes breakfast menu is built on the chain's buttermilk biscuit. Popeyes' January 2026 nutrition guide lists these breakfast items, marked "not available at all locations":

• Biscuit sandwiches: chicken, sausage, egg, egg and sausage, bacon, and sausage and gravy.
• Sides: grits and hash rounds.
• Drinks: coffee and orange juice.

Some stores add their own twists. Popeyes' ordering system also carries breakfast items such as ham biscuits, cheese and egg combinations, a spicy chicken biscuit, a country fried steak biscuit and breakfast wraps, plus combo versions. These appear to be local menus, and we could not confirm which stores sell them.

There is no breakfast platter in the nutrition guide or the ordering data we reviewed. The table below lists calories and protein for the standard items.

Which Popeyes breakfast items are lightest or highest in protein?

The Bacon Biscuit is the lightest Popeyes breakfast sandwich at 400 calories, and the Egg & Sausage Biscuit has the most protein at 20 grams, though it also carries 690 calories and 45 grams of fat. The Chicken Biscuit sits in between with 490 calories and 17 grams of protein, the best protein for the calories among the biscuits.

The sides are heavier than they look. Grits have 370 calories, nearly all of it carbs (80 grams), and hash rounds have 360 calories with 20 grams of fat. Adding either to a biscuit sandwich pushes a breakfast past 750 calories before a drink.

Sodium is high across the board. Every biscuit sandwich except the Bacon Biscuit has more than 1,000 milligrams, and the Egg & Sausage Biscuit has 1,520. Coffee has no calories, and orange juice has 140. More numbers for the full menu are on our Popeyes nutrition page.

How much is Popeyes breakfast?

Popeyes breakfast prices are set by each store, and we could not verify a national price. None of the 59 store menus we pulled from Popeyes' ordering system on Nov. 1, 2026, listed breakfast items for online ordering, and Drive Thru Index does not track them.

If you find a store that serves breakfast, the app or the menu board will show its prices. As a reference point from the regular menu, a plain buttermilk biscuit typically costs $1.39, and six cost about $6.19, according to Drive Thru Index. Ask whether the store offers breakfast combos with hash rounds and a drink, since the ordering system includes them.

What can you eat at Popeyes in the morning if there's no breakfast menu?

If your Popeyes opens at 10 a.m. with the regular menu, the Honey Chicken Biscuit is the closest thing to a breakfast sandwich. It is a full chicken breast filet on an oversized buttermilk biscuit, with honey sauce packets on the side. Popeyes called it right for "any meal of the day" when it launched on Sept. 28, 2026.

It costs $5 in most states and has 730 calories and 23 grams of protein, according to Popeyes' online menu. A version with bacon and cheese costs about $6.70.

Does Popeyes serve breakfast in the UK?

Yes. Popeyes in the United Kingdom runs a much bigger breakfast program than the U.S. chain. In April 2026, Restaurant Online reported that Popeyes UK was rolling out an expanded breakfast menu of around 20 items across all UK sites, built around chicken breakfast patties.

Named items included the Big Cajun Roll, a Cajun Hash Brown and an egg and cheese muffin, and serving times were extended to 10:30 a.m. None of those items appear in the U.S. nutrition guide, so a UK breakfast menu you see online will not match what a U.S. store sells. If you are traveling in Britain, check the local Popeyes UK app or website for the breakfast hours at that store, since the U.S. store directory we used does not include UK locations.

How do you find a Popeyes that serves breakfast?

The fastest check is the opening time. A Popeyes that opens at 10 or 10:30 a.m. is not serving breakfast, and those two opening times cover more than 80% of U.S. stores.

To track down one that does:

• Look for early hours. Use the store locator in the Popeyes app or on popeyes.com and look for stores that open before 9 a.m.
• Call ahead. Ask whether breakfast is served every day and when it ends, since we could not confirm a standard cutoff.
• Try travel locations. Airport stores are where early service has been reported.
