How much is a Subway platter?
Subway does not publish one national platter price. Its catering page says platters start at $7 per person in certain areas and that prices in your area may be higher, so the real number appears only when you enter your location.
You can still estimate. At $7 per person, a platter for 5 people works out to about $35 and a platter fed to 9 people to about $63, before tax, fees and delivery. Premium platters and higher-cost areas will run above that floor. When you compare quotes, look at the total after tax, delivery and any service fees rather than the per-person headline, since those extras can change which option is cheaper. Subway's value-menu prices are higher in California, Washington, Alaska and Hawaii, so get a catering quote for your address before you budget.
For a comparison point, a regular footlong costs about $7.29 to $13.49 in our price list. Our Subway footlong price guide has the details if you would rather order subs directly.
How many people does a Subway platter feed?
Subway says each platter serves 5 to 9 people. That is a wide range, so plan by appetite and by what else you are serving.
For a working lunch where the sandwiches are the main food, plan toward the low end, about 5 or 6 people per platter. For a party with other snacks, sides or dessert, you can stretch toward 9. If your group is big eaters or the event runs long, add a platter rather than cutting it close; leftovers are easier to deal with than running short.
A simple rule: divide your head count by 6 and round up. For 20 people, that is 4 platters. For 30 people, 5 platters. If you need individual meals that are easy to hand out, lunch boxes or a 12-box bundle are simpler than trays.
| Guests | Platters | Estimated starting cost |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 2 | about $70 |
| 20 | 4 | about $140 |
| 30 | 5 | about $210 |
| 50 | 9 | about $350 |
What comes in a Subway box lunch?
A Subway box lunch is a single-serving meal with a sandwich or wrap, a bag of chips and a cookie, according to Subway's catering page. The 12-box bundle uses six-inch sandwiches and adds a bottle of soda to each box.
Box lunches suit training sessions, field trips, job sites and meetings where people eat at different times, because each guest gets a complete meal in one box. They also make dietary needs easier, since you can order a few vegetarian boxes alongside the rest. Subway's guide lists a six-inch Veggie Delite at 310 calories and the cookies at 200 to 210 calories each, which helps if you are planning a lighter spread. Check our Subway cookie page for flavors.
How do you order Subway catering?
Subway sends catering orders through ezCater, an online catering marketplace. The Order Catering buttons on Subway's catering page open Subway's ezCater page, and Subway says to use it to find pricing in your area. Before you start, have your head count, address, event time and any dietary needs ready, and add a note about vegetarian or allergy requests so the shop can plan for them.
Subway says catering is available for pickup or delivery and that many orders can be ready the same day in 5 hours or less. For a large order or a specific time, order a day or more ahead anyway, since Subway says catering is made to order. You can also call your local shop with questions about a big order.
For a small group, ordering several footlongs in the Subway app for pickup is another option. Prices on our Subway menu can help you compare.
Can you order a party sub or giant sub from Subway?
Party subs and giant subs are not listed on Subway's national catering page in 2026, so availability depends on your shop. Our price file includes a three-foot giant sub at about $52.99, but treat that as a rough guide and call your local Subway to ask if they make one, how long it is and how much notice they need.
If your shop does not make giant subs, a sandwich platter is the closest substitute. It gives you a mix of fillings, which works better for a group with different tastes than one long sub with a single filling.
Do Subway deals and rewards work on catering?
Usually not. Subway's Sub Club terms say points are not earned on orders placed through third-party services, and rewards cannot be used for catering orders through services like ezCater. Most app deals, such as the Sub Club footlong buy-one-get-one that ran Oct. 27 to Nov. 8, 2026, are limited to regular app and online orders.
That makes the app worth comparing for smaller groups. If an app deal or the Sub of the Day fits your order, price it out against a platter quote. For bigger groups, catering is easier to manage. Our Subway deals page lists what is running now.

How far ahead do you need to order Subway catering?
